Tamme Family Portraits | Louisville, KY Lifestyle Photography
The Tamme family came back to me for Owens 1st birthday portraits. It was a very windy and chilly day so we opted for a lifestyle session in their home! We started out in PJs spending a little time in his bedroom. He LOVES to look out the window and has a fascination with the basketball goal outside! It was so cute to hear his little voice say “Ball” over and over again. When dad came upstairs there was nothing but giggles and smiles for daddy! He loves his papa sooo much… and I think the feeling is mutual! Eventually, we made our way around the house for some family portraits. The windows in the master bedroom were just to die for. Big brother Tucker was just too cute hamming it up on the bed. He totally wasn’t playing ball with me on there… nope. Not at all. Lastly, like most one year sessions, we had to end with a little cake smashing! There’s nothing sweeter than a little one grubbing and squishing on some cake!
Happy Birthday Owen! You’re such a big boy!!
A look back…
I just wanted to raise a glass and say THANK YOU to all those that have graced the front of my camera in 2012. It’s been a wonderful year.
Sisters Maternity Portraits
This summer my best friend came up for a visit from Florida. She’s pregnant with her second… and so is her sister!! I’m so happy to have been able to capture this time for both of these gorgeous mommas!!
M. Newborn Portraits | Louisville, KY Photography
This sweet, sweet, little man was such a great sleeper! He was just so calm and happy awake or asleep! And, he has an adorable big sister with the most beautiful eyes. She was so sweet and gentle with her little brother, it was adorable watching her with him! It was great to work with this family and capture these fleeting moments.
Bonne fête du Muguet! (Happy May Day!)
Today is May 1st, so I am sending to my friend, family, and the rest of the world a very happy May Day!
You may not know this about me, but I am half French. It is a French tradition to give Lily of the Valley’s to loved ones on May 1st. This year, my mom isn’t close to me, so I wanted to make sure I captured her Lily of the Valley’s for her to share with her friends and family…. and I thought I would share with you too!
Happy May Day my friends!!
And a very special May 1st to a photography friend of mine who is in labor today! (Ironically, it’s also Europe’s Labor Day.)
Thompson Family Session
Lately it seems Mother Nature has been against me.
Almost every session I have had that requires some time outdoors, there has been the threat of rain. This time was no exception. There ended up being a 30% chance of scattered showers. It had rained here and there during the day, only lasting for a few minutes then subsiding, so I decided to take the chance and hope we hit a good patch in the storms. The radar map was clear.
The Thompson family arrived at our location and the clouds were looking a little scary off in the distance. We didn’t waste much time and got straight to the family portraits. Both kids are having a birthday soon, so their wonderful mom made two beautiful cakes for them to smash during our session. However, it started raining after about 15 minutes and we had to run for the cars. We waited, checked the weather, the storm came out of no where. Just when we were about to give up, we got a break and set up for almost 3 year old Ella’s cake smash. I had just enough time to capture some of her absolute adorableness… when I heard rain in the trees at the end of the field. I looked at Carla and said “That doesn’t sound good.” We grabbed the cake and headed bolted to the cars. Barely making it in before an utter downpour started. We waited, and waited some more, but it wasn’t letting up. Finally, we had to give up and mother nature won that one. But, never fear, we were back at it the next day to give both Ella and Parker the cake smashes they deserved.
We had moved to a new location in Louisville, KY the second day, and Ella was enamored with a little wood bridge over a creek. She loved to throw sticks, leaves, and rocks into the creek. It was so cute watching her do this in her tutu (which her mom also made!). She was so delicate with her cake and used a fork, a true sign she’s no longer a baby. Parker on the other hand… he was fearless! I’ve never seen a 1 year old so in love with cake. Most don’t like the icing mess on their hands. But not Parker. He was wide eyed the moment we set the cake down and he grabbed it with both hands, and literally pulled the entire cake to his mouth. He spent the next 10 minutes cramming as much as possible into his mouth. Never once stopping to think he was “messy”. It was so, so fun!
Well, without further ado… here is what you really came for… the pictures!

Embry Maternity
I had the joy of photographing the Embry family as a surprise father’s day gift from the momma. They’re expecting their second baby, a girl, and big brother is too cute for words and loves to slobber the baby belly with kisses. We had a great session and got to explore a few areas. I really had a great time with this session! Enjoy!
Baby Riley
Had a wonderful time photographing sweet baby Riley! She had the cutest little expressions during our session and made darling little baby sounds the whole time. She was REALLY strong though and liked to kick off her feet! She kept me on my toes for sure! Editing her session was lots of fun, I loved going through the images all over again. I’m not going to lie, I may or may not have gotten a litttle teary eyed when I got to a family shot where Riley was smiling…. ooooooo sweet baby smiles get me every time!
To Riley’s parents: thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your new bundle of joy!
